The guide lists 29 independent watch brands from Japan, with the most in Tokyo (10), Kyoto (4) and Tóquio (2). Of those with a known movement, 52% make only mechanical watches, 7% only quartz and 41% both.
The most used calibres are Miyota/Citizen (18 brands), Seiko/TMI (13 brands) and ETA (2 brands). 5 brands use in-house calibres.
The average list price at origin is around $600; 18 of the 28 brands with published prices are under $1,000. Prices follow each brand’s website, converted at the exchange rate, and exclude taxes, shipping and import costs.
The oldest in the guide is Takano, founded in 1957; 14 were founded in 2015 or later. The most common styles are dress, GMT and chronograph.

The guide shows the average list price on each brand’s website, converted at the Central Bank of Brazil PTAX rate. It excludes taxes, shipping and import costs, and it is not Coroa’s selling price.
