← The definitive guide to microbrands

How the guide is made

Criteria, sources, checking and technical measurements behind the definitive guide to microbrands. The numbers on this page are calculated from the database on every visit.

What gets into the guide

Independent brands that sell wristwatches under their own name. Shops, resellers and defunct brands are excluded. Each brand gets a profile: microbrand, independent haute horlogerie (average price from US$8,000) or heritage house (founded before 1950). There are 1,178 brands from 62 countries today.

Where the data comes from

The price is the average list price on the brand’s website, converted at the Central Bank of Brazil PTAX selling rate of October 15, 2026. It excludes taxes, shipping and import costs, and it is not Coroa’s selling price.

How we check

1,125 of the 1,178 brands have been checked by hand on their official website (most recently on October 18, 2026). Each listing shows its check date or says it hasn’t been checked yet. A routine twice a week reviews prices, movements and new brands, starting with the most searched in the guide. Every change goes into the public corrections log, which has 1,983 entries today.

When a field is missing, the listing says “not available”. When none of the guide’s six styles applies (14 brands, such as experimental haute horlogerie), it says so, and that counts as filled above.
