What you receive
along with the watch
The watch arrives in a box. What comes with it decides what you can do if something goes wrong — and it is the part nobody photographs for the listing.
The two possible documents
NF-e modelo 55
A goods invoice, issued in your name, at the real value of the transaction.
It means the seller imported, cleared customs and is reselling. The import declaration sits under the shop’s CNPJ.
NFS-e
A service invoice — curation, intermediation or agency.
The service is real and the invoice is legitimate. What does not exist is a goods document in your name: the import was filed under your CPF.
Neither is irregular in itself. The difference is what each one gives you afterwards.
What the goods invoice is actually for
- It supports the warranty. It is what you put in front of the seller. Without it, the conversation starts at where the watch came from instead of at the defect.
- It proves ownership and origin. That matters on resale, on insurance, and in any question about possession of imported goods.
- It closes the chain. It is the evidence that an importer exists in Brazil — and it is the importer the Consumer Defence Code holds liable.
How to check it in thirty seconds
Two things on the invoice itself. The model: 55 is goods, NFS-e is a service. And the CFOP, the operation code printed on the document — a goods sale starts with 5 (within the state) or 6 (interstate).
Before paying you can get ahead of it: without an active Inscrição Estadual there is no way to issue an NF-e modelo 55 at all. The step by step is in How to check the seller before you pay.
Who answers for the warranty
Under article 18 of the Consumer Defence Code, suppliers are jointly liable for quality defects: you claim from whoever sold to you, and they have 30 days to cure it. Under article 12, liability for harm caused by the product sits with the manufacturer or the importer.
That is where the choice at the start comes due. If you were the importer, the manufacturer is outside the country and what is left in the chain is whoever provided the service. What Coroa will issue
Coroa is being incorporated to operate on the left-hand side of that table: customs clearance in its own name, an NF-e modelo 55 issued to the buyer, and after-sales service by a watchmaker in Brazil. The warranty term follows the one granted by the brand and never falls below the statutory floor.
And what is not true yet. Coroa has not imported a single time. There is no stock, no catalogue and nothing for sale today, and the first import is expected in Q4 2026. This page describes the model being built — once there is a first invoice issued, it will describe what has already happened.
